This is always a FAVORITE gift for mom for Mother's Day---after all, what mom doesn't want a DIAMOND (poem)?
This pack provides students with a template to follow to create their poem as well as a final copy page. I'd suggest printing it on colored card stock and laminating. A little bit of sparkle/glitter would add to it, as well!
There is also an example poem done for you, as well as templates and final copy pages that read "Someone Special" for those students who may not have a mother to
This is a ready-to-go printable for students to write about their hero. This would be a great activity to use with a USA unit on American Heroes or for writing about a hero around Memorial Day.

This is a half-page-sized booklet for recording vocabulary words. This would be great in small groups (i.e. guided reading groups) or during a science or social studies unit. Tiered Vocabulary is a shift in the Common Core, and this is one way to be sure you are including it in your classroom!
This is a writing assignment for students. It has a planning page for their introduction/conclusion, as well as for their three paragraphs (things they are looking forward to this summer and THREE supporting reasons why they are looking forward that event). There are two different writing papers - one with room for a picture, and one with plain lines and a decorative border.
Are you studying Metamorphosis in your classroom? Did you know there are 1, 135 words that can be made from these letters?
This download includes two recording sheets, a strip of make-your-own-letter-tiles, and a KEY broken up by the number of letters within each word. Rather than include all 1,135, I chose words with vowel patterns and/or high frequency words. This activity can be differentiated---the higher the level, the more difficult the words.
The activity can be teacher-directed or
This file gives you a planning page for students to create a computer generated {free} subway art document from a website. Students brainstorm adjectives and type them into a website. They can then select fonts, colors, and layouts and print a final piece as a Mother's day gift. A blank template/organizer is included, as well - so this can be done for Father's Day or other times when students would like to recognize someone.
This is a graphic organizer which forces students to go back into a text and use what the character says/does to make inferences about that character and their personality.
This file is a printable tag to attach to the large Bubble Wands. It says "You BLEW my mind this year! Happy Summer." You can attach it to a bubble wand as a fun send-off gift.
