This is a comprehensive handout that details the background of not only the author but of the Russian Revolution. It provides the teacher the opportunity to discuss the novel's background and have students fill in the blanks as the story is told. Answer key is included!
I have included my simple assignment directions to create a BookSnap book review. I created this assignment for 12th grade but it can be used for any novel at the high school level. Questions could be deleted or revised dependent on level.

This is a handout for students on the MLA format research paper. It explains certain criteria that I found pertinent to be completed in preparation for writing the paper (which you can add to or delete). It also includes a timeline for hand-in of all the required MLA parts to the research paper. Dates and specifications can be modified according to the grade level and requirements of the teacher.
This is a short (10 slide) Powerpoint presentation I give before I start teaching the Iliad. I also have a worksheet on my site to accompany this. It is for students to fill out as they follow the slideshow.
This is what I have my staffers turn in at the end of the week to show me what they've been working on, or that they've been working at all. Can be used for yearbook or regular class.
This worksheet accompanies my Iliad - Ancient Greece & Rome Background PowerPoint. Students can fill this worksheet out as you go through the PowerPoint as a class. Also, there is information on the background of the story, The Poet, & the story of The Iliad itself that follows.
Or, you can use this as a tool for students to search the web, find & fill out the background on the time period instead.
This is a self-analysis, issue critique and issue bests assignment I assign to my journalism classes. It can also be adapted for a creative writing or yearbook club/class.
Super easy handout for the kids that are always asking how to cite something.
