About the store
I have recently left the classroom for a data analyst job in the private sector. Prior to this transition, I have taught math at a liberal arts college for 8 years. Some of the courses I taught regularly were precalculus, statistics, and business calculus. I have also been tutoring students of all ages for many years. Oddly enough, SAT math is one of my favorite tutoring subjects because I get to solve more interesting problems with the student. It also covers many topics in mathematics.

Factor and Remainder Theorem Worksheet

This is a quick in-class exercise on Factor and Remainder theorem worksheet with additional exercise. Teacher can use this while teaching the section. It includes definition of the two theorem. Students would use the remainder theorem to find the remainder when a polynomial is divided by x-a without performing any long or synthetic division. Students should note that when f(a) =0, then x-a is a factor of such polynomial when they were presented with the factor theorem. Then, students would use

This 6-page document contains a brief introduction to graphing piecewise function and writing linear functions for each segment of a piecewise function. It is appropriate to use in a classroom where teachers can guide students to plotting piecewise function using a table of value and properties of linear function. It follows with guided exercises for students to practice in class or at home.

This is a guided worksheet for an introduction to graphing linear function. It is appropriate for algebra 1, some algebra 2 or pre-algebra class. Teachers can use it as a handout to guide students to graphing linear function. Students would first explore graphing linear equation through completing a table of values and plotting coordinates on the Cartesian plane. Then they are introduced to the slope-intercept form. The focus of the lesson is on the slope-intercept form. The first 3 pages ar

This worksheet introduces pre-algebra/algebra 1 students to creating a prime factor tree. It gives a step-by-step instruction to create a prime factor tree. The worksheet also comes with practice problems (4-true/false, 6 prime factor tree problems, and 1 bonus create-your-own tree problems). It is best to use the first page in class to guide students to create a factor tree using the given number (120). Show students that there are multiple possible paths and students will still get the same

I have recently left the classroom for a data analyst job in the private sector. Prior to this transition, I have taught math at a liberal arts college for 8 years. Teaching style

I am a more traditional instructor. I have tried to be creative by using flipped classroom and smart devices. However, I have found that students still learn best when they are given one-on-one, face-to-face instruction. Instruction needs not be dry. I think good demonstration with concrete examples would engage students learn better. Then they would be more confident in solving problems on their own. I have also allotted a lot more class time on class practice for students to work on problems. I also like to give case study assignments to my students.
