Experience

I have taught high school Family and Consumer Science courses for eight years. I have taught Culinary Arts, Food Science, Fashion Design, Advanced Fashion Design, Child Development, Human Growth and Development, Interior Design, Interpersonal Studies, Family and Community Services, Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness, and Principles of Human Services. Teaching style

I love to learn and helping students to become life long learners is a passion of mine. Hands-on learning is my favorite way to teach and many of my lessons are project based. Students need to see it, hear it, and do the activities. I love teaching Family and Consume Science courses because I get to show students how to apply the information they learn in their core subjects to life after high school.

My own education history

I have a degree in Human Development and Family studies. I graduated college magna cum laude with honors and I was the Salutatorian of my high school graduating class.

Additional biographical information

I come from a long line of teachers. My great grandmother taught in a one room school house. Both of my parents, my husband, my older sister and her husband, as well as several aunts and uncles are teachers. Teaching is what we love to do. I grew up around teenagers and I can't imagine teaching any other age group.
