This 6 page packet includes a plethora of up to date statistics and information regarding Spanish speakers in the USA. Much of it is from the 2010 census. There are places for the kids to answer questions, make predictions, and write their thoughts in regards to learning Spanish. Why is it important? How could it benefit you now, in 25 years, etc. It also briefly discusses globalization and why knowing Spanish is beneficial.
This version has some slight changes. After giving this to my students
I'm obsessed with using 'movie talk' in my Spanish classroom!

I'm addicted to movie talks!
They're such a fantastic way to achieve comprehensible input, engaging lessons and to stay in the target language.
This Spanish unit is based off of the youtube movie 'oktapodi'. I had nothing to do with the making of the movie. These are just to serve as supplemental resources.

My students were begging me to teach them some Christmas songs in Spanish. So this year, We learned Rodolfo el Reno (Rudolph the red nose reindeer) and 'Doce días de la Navidad' (12 days of Christmas).
I really enjoyed teaching the 12 days of Christmas because it has ordinal numbers, regular numbers, and many objects!
Enjoy!

This hand out has 12 different responses students can use to tell respond to 'How are you?'
Enjoy!

Also there are fun random questions such as: If you had a million dollars what would you do? Who is your hero? Favorites?
However, my favorite question was the last one. It is open ended and basically asks what is going on in their lives. I am always a
