This is a power point that I use in 8th grade Science to teach about abiotic and biotic factors, as well as populations and communities. We have already touched on ecosystems at this point in the course, so you will see reference to that. I also would often have the students brainstorm all the things that they think are included in an ecosystem or community, before we start the power point. this is a short document I have use in Earth and Environmental Science. It would also be appropriate for middle grades students. There is a brief description of how the Rock Cycle works along with a visual. Then there is a matching activity involving pictures of rocks and the students identify them as sedimentary, metamorphic, or igneous. The 3rd page consists of 2 more rock cycle diagrams and the key to the matching activity.

This is a Power point presentation on the formation of sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks that I have used in my Earth Science class. It gives basic information as well as visuals. Very straightforward and simple for the students to follow.
