Baseline Learning

This is an 8-page mini booklet that will make daddy cry. Each page (4.25" x 5.5") has a personal message for dad. Print the pages back to back then cut page in half (book style). Place one set of pages onto the other. Fold then staple twice with a long arm stapler. We brainstorm for each page then I set a timer for writing a sentence in their own book. When time is up, we are ready to start next page. When writing is done, pictures are added that match what they wrote about. A real keepsake.

Teaching the beginning, middle and end with my story planning sheet. Perfect for retelling a story or for developing a story. I use fairy tales to begin by role modelling as a class. Students begin learning how to use the template by using the # Little Pigs or Three Bears as the template model by changing the characters, setting and problem.
