Experience

I began teaching in 2008 and my experience has been an adventure! I have taught: AP US History, AP World History, Honors World History, Dual Enrollment Economics (ECON 1101), Dual Enrollment US History (HIST 2111 and HIST 2112), American Literature, World Literature, 6th Grade Social Studies, 6th grade ELA, World History, US History, Psychology, Sociology, Current Issues, American Government, US and World Affairs, SAT Prep, and Examining the Teaching profession.

Teaching style

When teaching a CRCT or End of Course Test class, I rely heavily on Interactive Notebooking to blend traditional techniques with differentiated and scaffolded Best Practices, including Marzano's strategies. When teaching courses that do NOT have a state test, I am in my happy place and use Project Based Learning. Regardless of my courses, I use the principles of Wiggins and McTighe's Understanding by Design.

I have been honored to be chosen as STAR Teacher twice.
