About the store

Experience

I have had over 16 years experience working in the field of Special Education, and 10 years with the school district as a Special Education staff. Throughout those years, working publicly and privately I have worked mainly with children with Autism ranging in ages from 3 years to 29 years old. Teaching style

I use ABA methodology when working with my clients/students. They follow a routine which they are comfortable with and can grow with. Each individual is unique in their own abilities. Short term and long term goals are discussed and maintained by the home and school based team. I work with families and school administration cohesively, in order to assist the student with learning and behavioural adaptations to perform at his or her best. I am for inclusive education.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I published a children's book with Friesen Press(Victoria, BC), "A Beautiful Woodland, Swish Swish Fish Fish." It is about being on the Spectrum in more colourful ways than one! An amalgamation of all the wonderful personalities I have had the pleasure of working with, and portrayed into the protagonist, Woodland Wester. This book is sold online internationally: Amazon, Indigo, Walmart, Mighty Ape, Blackwell's, and more like Barnes & Noble. There is also a Google Play and Kindle version, too. You can also find them locally at select Vancouver, Canada libraries.

My own education history

Bachelors in Psychology and Business (With Honors) Masters in International Studies (Psycholinguistics)

Additional biographical information

I love to see a student grow and be confident in one's academic abilities. I have adrenaline for education and outdoor adventures while learning within and outside our walls of education.
