Students will work in pairs to draw their own figures and create a rule of which their partner will follow to draw a translated figure. This allows students to practice both of the skills associated with translations on a coordinate grid including writing and interpreting translation rules.
Informally assess the learning of your students with this free exit ticket. Students are asked to determine which figure has the greatest volume, the rectangular prism, or the cylinder- a combination of 6th and 8th grade common core geometry standards.
