**REVISED** After a couple years of using this quiz in my own classroom, I decided it needed some changes. There are now two multiple choice options instead of four and two written response questions instead of three. I have also enlarged the font.
I created this quiz to assess my second graders' understanding of the economics concepts of producers, consumers, supply, and demand. Although it was made for second graders, it could also be used with any grade level studying introductory economics
I created this quiz to assess my students on their understanding of irregular verbs in the past tense form. However, it can also be used as classwork or review. The quiz is divided into three sections. The first section provides a list of irregular verbs in the present tense. Then, it asks students to choose the correct verb for each sentence and to write it in the past tense. The second section provides another list of irregular verbs in the present tense and asks students to change two of the
I created this document as a quiz to assess my students' understanding of common and proper nouns and capitalization rules for names, holidays, products, and geographic locations. The second section asks students to determine if given nouns are capitalized correctly. If they are not, students must write the noun correc
I created this worksheet to assess my students' understanding of pronouns. For first graders, it offers a cumulative assessment of commonly used pronouns and offers a challenge with an introduction to reflexive pronouns. For second-graders, it works well as a review of previously learned pronouns and of reflexive pronouns. It is divided into three parts with five questions in each part. The first part asks students to circle the pronouns in each sentence. The second section asks them to replace

This quiz is an excellent assessment tool for any elementary economics unit. It covers such concepts as consumers and producers, goods and services, trade, and interest. There are ten questions in all. Five of them are multiple choice, two are true or false, and the remaining three require a written response. It meets the second grade North Carolina Essential Standards for Economics. However, it can also be used in other states with similar standards for economics.
I used this to assess my 2nd graders' understanding of possessive nouns. However, it could also be used as a pre-assessment or a worksheet in a 1st or 2nd grade classroom.
The first question is a multiple choice that asks students to define a possessive noun.
The second part asks students to rewrite the underlined noun as a possessive.
The third sections asks children to circle the possessive noun in the sentence.
The final two questions ask students to write a sentence about the picture. Th

This document can be used as a class activity or as an assessment. I created it as a quiz on dictionary and thesaurus skills for my sixth and seventh graders. It asks students to explain the difference between a dictionary and a thesaurus, to list three items that can be found in a dictionary (definitions, word origins, parts of speech, etc.), and to explain what guide words are and how to use them. I hope you find this product useful!
Great outdoor learning activity! I created this handout during a 2nd grade unit on Natural Resources. We took a walk around the school and the kids recorded the natural resources they observed. Then, they answered the questions independently. This activity is aligned with the North Carolina Essential Standards for Social Studies, but can be used for any state with comparable Social Studies standards.
I created this series of worksheets for my second-graders as a review of telling time to the nearest hour, half hour, and quarter hour before we began telling time to the nearest five minutes. However, the worksheets could also be used as a challenge for advanced first-graders.
There is a week's worth of worksheets (front and back), one for each day. They could be used as a pre or post-assessment, morning work, classwork, or in a homework packet. They're also great for an end of the year or be
I created this document to assess my second graders' understanding of adjectives before we began discussing adverbs. However, it can also be used in a 1st or 2nd grade classroom during any lesson on adjectives. The worksheet consists of two parts. The first part is comprised of six sentences in which students are asked to circle the adjective and underline the noun it describes. The second part gives students several adjective choices for each of four sentences. Students select the best two choi
I created this quiz to assess my students' understanding of Gary Soto's Big Bushy Mustache (Houghton Mifflin). It consists of 6 written response questions. The quiz meets Common Core Standards RL 2.1 (Ask and answer questions) and RL 2.3 (Describe how characters in a story respond to major events and challenges).
This center assesses students' understanding of the difference between goods and services. Students will match picture cards to "good" or "service" cards. Then, they will complete the recording sheet which asks them to list each picture and whether it shows a good or a service. In a written response question, students will be asked to explain the difference between a good and a service.
The center includes the following:

Student Instructions
16 Picture Cards
8 Good cards

This "All About Me!" packet is perfect for the first days of school. It helps you get to know your students and it helps them feel more comfortable with their new teacher, classroom, and classmates. I gave it to my second graders as morning work on the first day of school and then had student volunteers share their favorite drawing or statement from the packet. You could also divide the students (depending upon their age) into small groups and have them share their packets with one another. It w
