I have been through many of the lower grades. 1st and 2nd are my absolute favorites, but I also have a soft spot for 4th! I absolutely LOVE teaching. I couldn't ever imagine doing anything else. I dont know about you, but i have tried several different behavior systems within my classroom over the years. What I have learned from all of them is that a simple and straight forward system is the best. So, in my classroom we have a color chart for our choices and they earn coupons for good behavior. These can be used individually by creating a small pack of smarties for each group of parents coming into your classroom for conferences or there is a large sign to put out next to a bowl of smarties for parents to grab as they leave!

This is a simple little note you can staple to a small bag. When a student loses their tooth you can have a safe and cute place to put it so that it gets home safetly!

Experience

Teaching style
I want the environment of my classroom to be one where students are excited to come to each and every day. I want them to feel safe, and know that their classroom is a place where they can express themselves. With the being said, I am a stickler for behavior. My students learn that right off the bat. I love rewarding good behavior. FUN is my middle name, and I put that word into as much of my activities as possible.

My own education history
I graduated high school in 2007. I attended the University of Pitt at Johnstown Campus. College was the most amazing time of my life. I loved every minute of it. Th education program was wonderful. I was able to do 4 Field placements and 3 different student teaching experiences. I graduated college in 2011. I am now currently going back to grad school for reading at Edinboro.
Additional biographical information
I just recently got engaged and am in the process of planning my wedding. Its all so excited, and I am very excited for it to get here! I live in Pittsburgh, and am currently working at a public school there.
