Draw an autumn scene according to the directions provided. Directions are on two different levels and allow children the practice of using both sides of a rule and measuring to the nearest inch, 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch. Students will measure and practice measurement vocabulary (foot, inch, centimeter, decimeter, diameter, radius, etc.).

Students follow the many directions below (written at 2 levels), in order to draw a winter scene. Geometry vocabulary, as well as measuring to the nearest 1/2 inch are the main focus. Vocabulary: pentagon, trapezoid, decimeter, cylinder, inches, centimeters, diameter, width, height, symmetrical, etc.

Students apply fractions to real life situations in demonstrating their comprehension of each fraction word problem. As students read, they shade in fractions and answer questions to demonstrate their understanding of what fractions truly are- parts of a whole!

1.) Reason and sort true and false statements regarding a square. 2.) Sort shapes according to their attributes; parallelogram, polygon, etc.

Students practice area and perimeter, literally on the floor!

Use reasoning skills to determine whether a fraction is labeled correctly or not. Demonstrate understanding of naming fraction by cutting out the fraction and then gluing it under the true or false category. Aligned to CCSS- 3.NF.A.1 3.NF.A.2 3.NF.A.3
