As a part of an author study, students learn vocabulary and phonemic awareness, engage in hands on and writing activities that help students make personal and real life connections with stories and promote interaction with classmates and incite creativity.
Shared Reading: Before, during, and after reading Grandfather's Journey by Allan Say, students will answer questions that are engaging and promote discussion. Students will participate in activities that help them make text-self connections.
