The purpose of these pages were meant to engage the students during read alouds, as well as extend their learning from where I thought my students needed more of a focus. This resource is meant to help students practice their adding and subtracting skills. All of the cards require regrouping and if their answers are correct, it will spell out a "secret message". It is an easy, low-prep for teachers, but high engagement for your students!

This is meant to go along with CKLA Skills 3 for 2nd Grade (2nd Edition). I made these to tackle the Spelling Trees, since I did not have enough space to make them in my class. There are also additional word chains and spelling practices that go along with these skills. The end includes a self-reflection page.

This unit is somewhat hard for the kids to grasp, so I would highly recommend doing as much hands-on experiments as possible, using these pages as a starting point!

This is meant to be a companion to CKLA Amplify Skills 2 (2nd Grade). I wanted to have the students do more with the tricky words and this is what I made to support that. There are different activities to practice using tricky words in sentences, writing them, and also some self-reflection!

I made this as a fun way to review telling time around Thanksgiving time. This is more so designed for 2nd grade standards, but can easily be used for any grade that needs a good review.

In class, we were reading about Ancient Rome and all of the gods and goddesses. This is a project that we assigned students to do at home, but it could easily be done in class as an extension project or center. This was designed to follow the chaining, dictation, and practicing tricky words as laid out in CKLA Amplify Skills 1 (2nd Grade). Also includes self-reflection pages for kids to be able to identify their "glows" and "grows".

I used these with my students with Unit 1 (CKLA Amplify) and it really helped them with their understanding of the story and it gave them something to do while I read aloud. This was an at-home project we designed to help extend learning about immigration and making it more personal. The United States is after all the "Great Melting Pot", so why not take a moment to celebrate all the different immigration stories in your classroom! Even if you have students that are Indigenous, they can still participate in this project and explain their culture, language, etc!
