About the store
My husband and I have a combined total of 26 years of experience in education. I have 15 years education experience ranging from 1st - 5th grade in all subject areas, but my love is creating math materials for elementary school. I have been a math facilitator for the past 5 years at a Title I school in Texas where I have learned the importance of assessing students at the level of rigor needed to increase student achievement. Writing assessments is my expertise. My husband has been teaching high school Algebra, Algebra II, and PreCal for the past 13 years helping to increase Algebra scores from 40% to 80% in some sub population groups. We love the opportunity to share what we have created to help students be more successful.

5th Grade Math Coordinates and Line Graphs
As 5th grade teachers, we are always trying to prepare our kids for high stakes tests, like the Texas STAAR test. This includes 2 practices/assessments that can be used in your classroom to practice or assess the students at the rigor level of STAAR for the TEKS 5.9 and 5.13A which deal with naming coordinate points and choosing the appropriate line graph from a set of number pairs. All questions are aligned with the Texas TEKS.

5th Grade STAAR Ready Problem Solving Practice 1-4
These 4 practices each contain 10 multi-step problem solving questions. Almost every question is a free response question to provide students good rich mixed problem solving practice without the answer choices to help them.
I tried to create problems that contained the rigor they will be expected to master on the STAAR test this year.
We will use these practices the 2 weeks prior to the STAAR test to give students extra practice with multi-step problem solving.

2nd Grade Place Value to 99 and 999 Practice & Assessments
Are you tired of not having enough questions on 2nd grade materials to take an accurate grade on. Most assessments we find are too short and not thorough enough to prepare the students for testing in 3rd grade.

3 Digit Addition and Subtraction Problems. Practices, and Assessment
These problems are all 3 digit addition and subtraction problems, both single and multi-step. The first section is problems separated by type: Combining, Comparing, Separating, and Missing Part. The second section contain an activity for students to cut apart the problems and sort them according to addition or subtraction and then solve. There is a third section that contains missing part subtraction problems 1 and 2 step, there are 17 different missing part problems that can be used as warm

Tenths and Hundredths Decimal Practices
The focus of these practices is tenths and hundredths. The following unit contains notes pages on "What is a Decimal", "How to read a decimal", and "How to write a decimal". It also contains an outline of a lesson plan for 8 days (nothing super specific, but the order that we teach decimals). In addition, there are 7 difference practices including the following concepts:

Multiplication and Missing Number Facts Practice
These 12 practices each contain 80 questions. Half of the practices are multiplication facts to 12 and half are fill in the missing number which reinforces both multiplication and division. We use them as a warm up during our 12 day review before the state test in 4th and 5th grade.

2nd Grade Math Review Quizzes 11-15
These 5 quizzes are each 10 questions. They are mostly free response with a couple of multiple choice mixed in. These quizzes are written to be aligned with the rigor of the TEKS and they emphasize problem solving.
We use these each week as a spiral review, making sure that the students are held accountable for the information we have already covered this year. As you know, if they don’t keep reviewing it, they have a tendency to forget it.

Writing Fractions and Decimals from Pictorial Models
The following 3 practices focus on the concept of taking a pictorial model of tenths or hundredths and writing a fraction and decimal for match the picture. It is such a simple skill, but so many students struggle.
2 practices contain models of tenths and hundredths - problems are already determined for you

Kindergarten RTI Progress Monitoring Numbers 6-10
I have created 5 Progress Monitoring Assessments for Kinder students who are struggling to master the numbers 6-10. I use these to gauge students progress as I work with them in a small group. They provide me the documentation I need for Tier 2 and Tier 3 students in the RTI process.
Each of the 5 assessments are VERY similar. I have just mixed up the numbers and changed the number of objects. Each assessment includes:

Teaching style
You will notice from my work, that I am not into anything elaborate, My focus is on creating assessments that are aligned with the Texas TEKS and are strong, rigorous problems that prepare students for the state assessment they face each year.
