Dan received his Bachelors of Education from the University of Alberta with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Technology. As an educator, Dan focuses on creating educational environments where students construct their own understanding through content creation and discovery in conjunction with technological tools. Dan has served as an Educational Technologist, co-authored university textbook materials on educational technology and received multiple educational technology grants. Most recently, Dan became a proud member of the Apple Distinguished Educator class of 2013.

Congruent Triangles and Shapes Corporate Logo Project
This assignment was developed for the WNCP Math 20-2 Fundamentals of Mathematics course. This project requires students to apply what they have learned about angle and triangle relationships to seek out fundamental design principles used in corporate logos and marketing. Students will seek out a library of logos which employ congruent triangles and/or parallel lines to create their own collection of recognizable shapes. They will then create their own logo utilizing these design elements. This

In this project, students create their own artistic sculpture made up of select 3-dimensional shapes. They then use their knowledge of measurement and geometry to calculate the surface area of their art piece.
