El Banquillo
El Banquillo is an opportunity for students to demonstrate to the teacher their ability to answer a variety of questions in Spanish. Students are given a list of 20 questions in advance to prepare for, and then during an assigned class time, students are interviewed for a short period of time by the teacher. Students have a limited amount of time to answer as many questions as they can from the pool, and the grade is assigned accordingly.

Use this as a tool to get students up and moving about the room while speaking Spanish! I have students ask as many people they can to get a sampling of answers on this survey. We sometimes stop there, or we then discuss and chart our responses. If I really want to expand the activity, we then write about what people said and the results.
