This handout gives parents a lot of information on how to help their student with reading. It explains how to read with young readers, how to help their child when they get stuck on a word, questions to ask the student while they read, how to know the right reading level for their child and general tips for parents!

Teachers are not the only ones to track data. Students now can use this sheet to graph their reading and math NWEA score. Our district makes our students take the test three times each year. My students keep their goal sheets in their student data notebooks.

I put together a calendar that could be used in a students data notebook. This can be used to track behavior for each student. Our school uses a flip card system. But the calendar can be EDITED based on what you use at your school. Each day my students shade what color their behavior card was turned to at the end of the day. In our school teachers need to send a weekly report card home letting parents know how their student is doing. This lets parents know about behavior, missing work, and upcoming events that are happening at the school. Parents need to sign the bottom and return on Monday. This is editable to fit your needs!

If you feel unorganized with the plain white boxes given to you by your schools to keep yourself organized, try this! It is easily adaptable to your schedule by changing the subjects and times. I print out the pages, make copies double sided, then punch holes and put them in a binder. This planner keeps me organized to plan ahead and also plan for homework. This assessment will test the students on identify different parts of an insect by drawing a picture then labeling the parts, students will need to describe the needs of an insect, answer true and false questions, and label the lifecycle of milkweed bugs and describe the lifecycle of a butterfly. If there is a question on the test that doesn't fit what you taught your students the test could be change through Microsoft word!
