In January of 2021 the Texas Education Agency (TEA) released a report stating that the average student attending public, charter, and private schools in the State of Texas, since March of 2020, lost 3.2 months of academic learning time due to school closures caused by the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. It is projected that by the start of the 2021-2022 school year the academic learning time lost to students will exceed 4.0 months. The lost academic learning time impact on student academic achi
The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Standard - TEKS 6.2(A) introduces sixth grade students, for the first time, to the classification of rational, integer, and whole numbers using a Venn Diagram to describe the relationships between the sets of numbers. The standard do not require any mathematical calculations, but it does require an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the theory of the Universal Set, Sets, and Subsets including the definitions associated with sets and the

Teaching style
I attempt to see math through the eyes and minds of my students realizing that their minds and thoughts will not occupy the same space and thoughts that I do at the same time. Therefore, I create visual tools that assist in bridging this gap or delayed thought process and I keep recycling and recycling the math content until they get it....I hope.
