I try to save paper when I can. :-) I quiz the kids on these and document who has gotten their 0s, 1s, 2s....all the way up to 9s. I give them 1 minute and if they get it in that minute, they are the master! If they don't master it, I have them grab flashcards with that number (which is in my list of items on TPT).

This has some famous people that have failed many times. Kids have to guess. Put it in presentation mode. There are 26 slides and 2 videos included.

This is fun for kids to see how their minds and eyes play tricks on them. It really gets them excited! There are a few videos along with some visuals who look like they are moving when they aren't.

These are great for kids to use when they are discussing and reading Narrative Nonfiction. They can write on them. There are 3 to a page.

This is a packet to use with nonfiction or expository texts. Children choose a research topic and look at the nonfiction features to learn more. There is a title page, table of contents, different kinds of, interesting facts about, parts of a, how to, illustration and caption, and works cited. The preview is generated so it looks crooked. It's not, and it's in Word so you can change it around.

This game was asked to be made on TPT and I enjoyed making it and will use it too. It has situations for kids to discuss as they land on certain places. The situations deal with the holidays. I have improved it.

My kids needed something to use during their reading each daily to guide them in what to do. This bookmark has saved me in reading. It has decoding strategies for the lower readers on one side and comprehension strategies we discuss in class on the other. I copy it two sided on cardstock and cut into thirds. This is great to use when reading and reflecting on Expository Nonfiction texts. It goes with our 2nd grade TEKS. There are 3 to a page to save paper.

This is great for kids skip counting, recognizing patterns, and learning about how the ones and tens place change values depending on the direction you go. There are enough spots for every number to fit so it's easy to check!

I use this bookmark for them to use to know what their goal is as they read with it. Each time I confer with them I will look at their current goal and change it if necessary. There is a space with the date when a new goal is given. I will also keep the pieces in a recipe holder so each tab has the goal I can pull out. I use this for children that are reading chapter books. They create a project and then present it to the class. The second page is a list of 16 projects with visuals to choose from. They can use one page to help them prepare for presentation. The last page is a checklist for them and where I put their grade. Lots of resources were used to create this. It's much easier to do it this way. :-)

I have my kids use this before they even begin a word problem, along with my "problem solving rubric". It allows them to talk with partners about their understanding of the problem and what action to take. Children don't have to write under each one, but it needs to be understood before solving the problem. The kids are really doing great with this! Saves time!

WE use this to teach the features of nonfiction. We have them bring in or use a magazine at school to cut out the features and glue in. I demonstrate first on mine, then they do theirs (which is different). I also make an anchor chart with each of these each day.

I put this in my kids' "Daily Folders" and it has a guideline for parents and kids to use to know what questions to ask on fiction and nonfiction books.

There is a quiz students can take, then read about what type of mindset they have, growth or fixed. There are many videos and fun activities to help their mind grow!

This is a half sheet they can glue in their journals after reading a book. They make text-to-text, text-to-self, and text-to-world connections. This helps them really pay attention to what they are reading and helps their comprehension. There are 2 to a page!

This is a great, and less time consuming way to document holidays you learn with your kiddos. You can cut out the two suitcases and put the little cards inside. You can also clue the front in a journal and make a pocket to put the cards in. :-)

I use this almost daily with my students. I have been working on this with lots of people over the last 5 years. It really gets them thinking about the problem. I have them glue it in their notebook and use it for their problems. I don't have them write in detail the "KAWT" but they need to at least think about it. Contact me if you have any questions. This is an easy, short way to send Flat Stanley if you are crunched on time. It's neat for the kids to see what he writes back and see the picture of him at the new place. You can write in the address, school, and place.
