This is a simple step-by-step list for student interactive notebooks.
Steps walk students through entering data, graphing the scatterplot and linear regression (tend line) in the Ti-83/84 family of graphing calculators. Screen shots of what the students see on their Ti are also included to encourage autonomy after initial instruction.

Activity 1 - Generating Regression: Given 4 data tables, students will plot a scatterplot, find the regression equation, determine whether the data shows exponential growth or decay, and use the r-value to determine if the regression equation is a good fit for the data.

Powers & Expressions Dominoes
Get ready, get set, play!
Pair up / group students and provide each pair/group with a game instruction sheet, a bagged set of dominoes, and a recording sheet. This activity can be used individually as well. After playing, students record the completed pattern of their domino set onto the recording sheet and turn in. A mix between "old school" direct instruction and 21st Century collaborative learning. It really depends on the students I have each year. Some years, my groups need more traditional methods and other years we can expand to more out of the box methods. I esp. love to infuse as much technology as possible.

I have always wanted to be a teacher - but took the long route to finally decide. I truly enjoy working with others to develop their knowledge and skills. I love to help students (and even adults) become who they want to by empowering them to stretch beyond their comfort zone and reach new heights of academic and personal success. Sometimes life leads us down winding side roads, but eventually we all find our way back to the main path -- to our destiny.
My other passion (ok, obsession) is organizing! I love organizing classrooms, personal spaces, memorabilia, etc.
