Process Skills Practice: Students will practice identifying observations, inferences, and predictions. This is a double sided worksheet, that should be cut in half. Two worksheets per 1 page.
Students interpret data in a chart and graph by answering analysis questions. Great PSSA prep! This worksheet is a half sheet so you will have 2 student copies per 1 page.
Students will fill in a short notes section giving them a background on measurements and the SI system. Then, students will fill in a graphic organizer on basic measurements. Finally, on the second page students will practice with SI units.
This lab will help students conceptualize that plants in the dark will go through cellular respiration and in the light, plants go through photosynthesis. For the plant, I would suggest going to Petsmart or another pet supply store that sells live, under-water plants. Post-lab questions are also included.
This test covers vocabulary related to experimental design, lab safety, and the metric system. This test covers our first unit of science for the year, which is a basic overview of foundational science knowledge. A modified version is included, along with a version for ESL students. An answer key is also provided.
Students will practice the steps of the scientific method by conducting an experiment testing how fast different liquids will dissolve a sugar cube. Students will test water, coke, and nail polish remover. Students will fill out a chart to record their data and answer analysis questions.
In this practice, students will read experiments and identify the IV, DV, and constants. Students will also practice identifying the IV and DV by reading a hypothesis. Students will also practice creating a hypothesis.
In this PBL, students have the opportunity to design and implement their own experiment. Throughout this unit, scientific method, parts of an experiment, and data collecting can be integrated and taught. In this specific PBL, students design an experiment to grow the tallest plant. Students were given a variety of household products, different soil samples, as well as different seeds. Each part of the project is provided in this bundle as well as rubrics.
In this unit, students travel around the world to master polynomials. Students begin in Anchorage, Alaska where they practice identifying and simplifying like terms. After checking their answers, they are given a new boarding pass to travel to Nevada and then Brazil to practice multiplying polynomials using the FOIL method. After mastering multiplying polynomials, students then practice factoring polynomials. Once their group is finished, students will play polynomial tic-tac-toe.

Using process skills at home! In this activity, students will observe a pet or an animal that visits their yard at home. Students will make qualitative and quantitative observations about the animal, make inferences, and make predictions on how it will behave. This is a half sheet worksheet for students, so there are 2 copies per page. Great homework practice!
This lab is great for your kinesthetic learners! Let your students pick which exercise to perform, like jumping jacks, high knees, or running in place. Students will record their heart rate after each round. After students record their data, they answer analysis questions and practice graphing their data.
First students will identify two variable in each scenario. Then, students will just identify the independent variable in 5 scenarios. Lastly, students will identify the dependent variable in 5 scenarios. *Fully editable* Answer key included on the second page.
Powerpoint and Guided Notes sheet to help students learn about the basic parts of an experiment. PDF and Word version of the guided notes sheet included. Vocabulary Covered: Variable IV DV Constants Control Repeated Trial Hypothesis
Students will take notes on the cell cycle using a circular graphic organizer. The best way for students to complete this notes sheet is by the teacher projecting a blank copy onto the screen and filling in the notes along with the students. I use my document camera when I am using this notes sheet. The answer key is attached for your reference.
This test covers all of the organelles and their function for prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. A modified version is also included along with an answer key.
