About the store
I have had the pleasure of teaching for four years now at a rural High School in Florida. I currently teach English I Honors and a variety of Drama courses. I have also taught English III (American Lit) for two years and gifted 8th grade Language Arts during my internship (with an emphasis on Shakespeare). My Drama courses include Introductory Drama, Theatre I, Theatre II, Theatre III Honors, Theatre IV Honors, Technical Theatre, Acting I, and Stage Management and Directing.

Experience

I have had the pleasure of teaching for four years now at a rural High School in Florida. I currently teach English I Honors and a variety of Drama courses. My Drama courses include Introductory Drama, Theatre I, Theatre II, Theatre III Honors, Theatre IV Honors, Technical Theatre, Acting I, and Stage Management and Directing.

Teaching style

Whether in my English Language Arts or Drama lessons I strive to foster creativity, critical thinking, and independence in my students. Through cooperative learning and applying the Gradual Release of Responsibility, students are able to explore the subjects of Literature and Theatre independently, with the security of a safety net in the support found in my lessons.

I earned my B.A. in English at the University of Florida and then returned for my M.Ed. in English Education. I am certified in secondary English Language Arts.

Additional biographical information

In addition to my formal education in English, I have been involved in the Theatre Arts for 22 years. Beginning in my Mother's dance classes, I moved on to acting and eventually directing. I have been active within my community's theater for nearly ten years now and I am constantly striving to gain more knowledge in theatre.
