About the store
Multi-dimensional teaching background: I myself was home schooled through high school graduation, and assisted with the home schooling of younger siblings. I then taught in an outdoor environmental setting for 2 years (mainly 5th grade) which was an annex of Indiana University. Upon receiving my bachelor's degree, I taught in an alternative learning center (11th and 12th grades) and traditional classroom: US History, Psychology, AP Psychology, and Indiana History.

Psychological Experimentation

The study of Psychology is unique in that it skirts a fine line between a social study and a science. It is often considered to be a bit of both due to the amount of experimentation psychologists perform in order to better understand the way the mind works. Students will learn the methods scientists use to accomplish experimentation throughout this unit and will culminate in the final project of creating their own type of psychological experimentation. This project can be used in a general Psych

This is a power point present that explains the basics of the American Great Depression during the 1930s. It can be included within a high school US History course. My favorite part of this presentation is the picture analysis portion. They students were fully engaged as they assessed each picture and analyze the thoughts and feelings of those pictured. I used it as a power point presentation and showed each picture on the big screen. It was a very sobering, thought provoking activity for them.

Large group activities can sometimes be the best method for securing information learned in a particular unit. In General Psychology I prefer summing up the details of the brain and nervous system with such a group activity. In this activity, students are required to draw the body outline of their partner on a large sheet of paper. Once the large outline is drawn, students will fill in various aspects of the CNS and PNS. I have used this multiple times throughout general psychology and each time

This is a simple journal prompt that essentially can be applied to just about any subject. I have personally used this for a general psychology course during the development unit, in order to get students to think about development across the lifespan. This could be implemented into a simple daily journal activity, giving students the opportunity to think past tomorrow. Encourage them to set far-reaching life goals, especially as we seem to all have a little extra time on our hands...

This is the beginning power point presentation for high school US History. I teach my US History course a little different...BACKWARDS!!!! Why do we always have to start way at the end and then work our way to our current time. Most students hate history so why not make the first unit the bait that pulls them in. Discuss what is going on now: COVID-19, Trumps Impeachment, Trade Wars with China, North Korea, etc, etc,. Sprinkle the bait out there and watch them suddenly take an interest. Througho

This is an Indiana specific state activity, however, it can be easily adapted to any state. Pick a significant location and create your own adventure including where to go, what to do, how to get there, and how long to stay and play. I have used this activity in a high school Indiana History class. I had contacted the website: Visit Indiana and requested travel brochures from various counties. I encouraged the students to use these travel brochures to learn about information in the area they wi

Use this activity as an introduction to general psychology course or an advanced placement course. This will help students begin thinking introspectively as they develop the mind of a psychologist. This activity will help them to see themselves as individuals in relation to the whole group. This activity can also be used as a specif
