This is a power point present that explains the basics of the American Great Depression during the 1930s. It can be included within a high school US History course. My favorite part of this presentation is the picture analysis portion. They students were fully engaged as they assessed each picture and analyze the thoughts and feelings of those pictured. I used it as a power point presentation and showed each picture on the big screen. It was a very sobering, thought provoking activity for them.

Use this at the beginning of class once or twice a week to get students involved hands-on with the material you are discussing. Add as many specifications to the research as you wish! Specific to Indiana History but can be adapted to any state history course.

In General Psychology I prefer summing up the details of the brain and nervous system with such a group activity.
