Experience

I have taught for 16 years in both Reading and English Language Arts classes grades 9-11.

Teaching style

I specialize in helping students understand literature as a conversation of ideas between authors. My favorite lessons involve having students analyze similar ideas in different mediums. I am a proponent of engaging multiple senses by incorporating visual arts and music into lessons. I believe that students are most invested when they are able to make text to text connections and see how the ideas they engage with in one text can be applied to further reading and writing.
