I made this quiz to assess students' basic understanding of cells. The cell knowledge required for this quiz includes an understanding of single-celled (protists, like amoeba, paramecium, and euglena) and multi-celled organisms; who discovered cells; the parts of a cell; the differences between plant and "animal" cells; and the organization of cells within an organism (i.e. tissues, organs, systems). I made this PowerPoint slideshow as a start to our science matter unit. It provides talking points for a lecture on matter, mass, and volume. The show starts by defining matter as anything that has mass and volume. The following slides deal with definitions and examples of mass and volume. The last slide ties it all back together by revisiting what matter is.
