Use this worksheet with the book Oh, The Places You'll Go to help students learn the economic concepts personal resources, choice, competition, opportunity cost, and risk. There is a place for students to give the page number where they found an example of each concept and then space for them to explain why they believe the part of the story demonstrates the concept. In today's global economy, it is important to know the business etiquette practices of other countries. In this project, students will explore the business etiquette of other countries like Japan, Thailand, and Mexico. They must research different practices like business card etiquette, professional dress for men and women, and meeting times. Comprehensive rubric included.

This PowerPoint (2010) includes 31 different bell ringers to use in your Introduction to Business Course. You could use these no matter what text you are using, but I use the Intro to Business by Dlabay, Burrow, and Eggland 6e textbook. This PowerPoint does not include bell ringers for every chapter of the book however. Many of the questions ask for students' opinions or examples, but where there is a definite answer, I have provided it in the notes section of the slide.

To end my unit on Microsoft Excel 2010, I have my students play Battleship in Excel. The premise is the same as the board game, but the "boards" are Excel worksheets. Students have to use fill color, boarders, alignment and have to change the height and width of cells. My students can get the board created and play a round in one 50 minute class period. However, I usually let them play for another full 50 minute class period.

I created this rubric when trying to teach my eighth grade class typing. The program I was using graded their speed and accuracy, but I needed something to help me keep account of their form. I give them this rubric every Monday and they are responsible for bringing it to class each day. On Friday, I simply add up their total score and put it in the grade book.

In this activity, students will write four checks. With the first check, I really try to spell out how to fill out the check. I give less directions with each check. Students must use critical thinking skills to figure out the information. There is one sheet of directions and two sheets with checks for them to fill out. This activity is followed up by three other activities.

I found a similar definition on Pinterest, but I added the mouthing words because my high school students try that during quizzes and tests when they are finished and say, "But I wasn't talking."
