Children are surrounded with Christmas images every November and December. But, do they know about the other winter holidays celebrated in the United States? Here are short summaries of las Posadas, Kwanzaa and Hanukkah.

This is a lesson to teach students about peace. It includes a word map, higher order thinking journal prompt and art activity. The lesson will prompt students to think about what it means to live in peace and have them create a peace tree to decorate the classroom with or take home to discuss with their families. I've done this with my students and they were excited to share what they had learned and done.

Your students will learn what a glyph is, make their own and analyze class data in this fun Easter activity. They will begin by learning what a glyph is and how to use one to convey and analyze data. They will create one of their very own. Note: There is an advanced Jelly Bean Glyph activity for 5-8 graders that includes data analysis using percentages, fractions and graphs on my store website. This activity, though is meant for 3-4 graders, and does not have extra math exercises.
