About the store
I am currently in my 33rd year of teaching. Most of my experience has been at the elementary level teaching self-contained classrooms, ELA/R, American History, and small group literacy intervention lessons. I have been an instructional coach in my school district for ten years working with teachers in grades K-12 and in all content areas. Most of my work is with elementary and middle school teachers. I am currently a literacy interventionist. Additional Experience: 1. Led trainings for Thinking Maps as the campus leader. 2. Trained teachers on the best practices of reading instruction and implementation techniques with the Accelerated Reader program. 3. Trained teachers with History Alive! 4. Selected by TEA to assist in creating State Reading Tests. 5. Organized the spelling bee and geography bee at the campus and district level. 6. Mentored student teachers – planned lessons, trained, and evaluated their teaching. 7. Site-based Committees: Fifth Grade Team Leader, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Character Counts Committee Chairman, Reading Renaissance, Family Reading Nights, Multiple Intelligences, Science Fair, Campus Excellence Committee (CEC), and PTA's Teacher Representative (2002-2003). 8. District Committees: District Budget Committee (2008), District Excellence Committee (DEC)(2006-2007), Job Fair Interviewing Team, Social Studies, and Language Arts/Reading Textbook Adoption Committee 9. Reading and Writing Workshop Model - supporting teachers with Units of Study resources. 10. Helping teachers with Patterns of Power grammar resources.
