Dinosaur Greek and Latin Roots

Gently introduce your younger elementary-age students to 75+ Greek and Latin roots with these 2 fun activities. Written in a conversational style, students learn how to look for and identify individual root words. Using a "dictionary" chart, they then translate dinosaur names into English. About the store

Experience

I have taught a variety of classes, including community college classes for kids; social skills classes for gifted students; and professional development courses for childcare providers.

Teaching style

Nothing sparks learning like rolling up your sleeves and getting dirty - whether its in the sandbox or by having a spirited Socratic discussion.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I am always honored to receive fantastic feedback from the TpT community on the products they've purchased through my store. I was also pretty thrilled to have been invited to submit a chapter to the 2019 publication: Success Strategies for Parenting Gifted Kids: Expert Advice From the National Association for Gifted Children

My own education history

With a Masters in Education from Johns Hopkins University, including a certificate in Gifted Education, I blend research-based best practices into curricular content that often ties in with social-emotional learning.

Additional biographical information

I homeschooled my children from kindergarten into college - but I am also a professional curriculum developer who has worked with nonprofits, schools, and colleges. I live in Maryland. My passion is working with the kids who make you want to pull your hair out. I blog occasionally at everyday-learning.org
