While searching for a way to make the topic of function relevant to my 8th grade students, I created this is a mini group assignment. This project can help to reinforce function relations while incorporating an item of interest to any student: the cell phone.

This is a review game I created for my students before our Weather Unit Test. This is a great activity to use to see how well your students understand the following cellular processes: photosynthesis, mitosis, respiration, and waste elimination. Students will cut out phrases and glue or tape them underneath the appropriate process. This can even be used as an introduction activity just to see how much the students know before beginning the lesson or as an end of class exit ticket activity.

In an effort to get my students more organized this year, I have created a binder system. In it, my students are responsible for keeping their binders organized, making sure they have things such as notes, warm ups, worksheets and lab sheets, and other activities. I will be giving a "random" binder check for a grade every few weeks, based on a rubric I made up. This sheet will allow them to keep track of their binder progress and grade. These task cards can be used for reviewing the concept of GCF and LCM. Cut the cards out, post them around the room, and have students rotate for a certain period of time to each problem. Students should record their work on a sheet of paper. If you would like to make it self checking, have the students add up their answers and see if it matches up to the final total provided. This is a study guide station that I created for my students before they were tested on functions. I allowed them to work in groups to answer the questions. About five minutes before station time ended the group were allowed to check their answers before moving on.
