Experience

As a former military spouse, I have had the opportunity to teach in several places including Richmond, VA, Newport News, VA, Minneapolis, MN, Clarksville, TN, and Alexandria, VA. As a pre-K teacher and homeschooling mom, I've enjoyed creating Montessori-inspired materials to enhance the classroom and to answer the needs of students.

Teaching style

I have always admired the teaching of Maria Montessori and aim to follow her method whenever I can. Children will show us what they need to be taught. It is up to us to observe that need, guide them, and then get out of their way!

Awards & shining teacher moments

My greatest joy has always been watching students succeed where they thought it impossible. My greatest honor has been in raising my own two children.

My own education history

I have a M.A.Ed. from the University of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN and a B.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts. I also have a primary diploma from the North American Montessori Center.

Additional biographical information

I've taught my two beautiful children at home several times during their childhood. Many of the materials on my store was created for them. Follow some of our preschool adventures at www.findingmontessori.blogspot.com.
