Using generic colored tiles, have students create ratios in its 3 forms as well as convert the fractions into decimals and percentages. The FULL version includes 2 additional activities including fractions, decimals, and percentages as well as teacher notes. The full version also includes ideas on differentiating for higher learners and struggling learners. The free version only has the ratios activity.
This assignment is used to help students identify which formula to use, what numbers you are plugging in, and solving for the answer. This is good for the teacher to see if students are having problems finding the formula, plugging in the numbers into the formula appropriately, and/or solving the problem using the formula. As a resource teacher, it helped me to realize that some students were using the WRONG formula and that some students knew how to plug in the numbers but didn't know how to
