About the store
I have over 10 years of experience in the field of elementary education. I started my teaching career as a classroom teacher. During this time, I implemented cognitively guided instruction, accountable talk, positive classroom management, and international education/global perspectives. I was honored to be selected as a teacher leader and mentor teacher for the 2014-2015 school year. After teaching in the classroom, I had the opportunity to support students school wide as a math interventionist and coach. I worked closely with students and their teachers implementing our school wide intervention program as well as in incorporating cognitively guided practices such as choral counts, number talks, counting collections, and Estimation 180 in their classrooms. I also organized our annual math nights, various school-wide math competitions, managed our before-school math program and was selected as a University of Washington Teacher Leader in math instruction. I am also endorsed both as a reading and international education specialist. I have spent the past 5 years working with and supporting districts, schools, teachers, and parents with K-5 math instruction as well as ELA support for early readers.
