Biome Movie List: Notetaking and Guided lesson

The Six Characteristics of Living Things (Notes, Content Review, or Test)
This is a worksheet that I use for guided notes to review 'living things' for my 4th-6th Grade students, and to discuss the characteristics of things like fungi and bacteria. The images help students to come up with ideas when stuck, but they also help the line allowing them to add a complete thought in a sentence. This is a good transition for students ready to move past just using a word bank or circling living things on a sheet. You could also use this as a test to check for understanding.

Biome Fantasy World Narrative Story Handouts
Students will write fantasy stories in a narrative style by creating characters with these worksheets. Digital Calendar for Remote Students (Biome World Map Project)
This color-coded, 4-week calendar is something that I post when students are working on a big project. Writer's Workshop: Personal Dragons- Metaphor
Dragons can be a metaphor for all manner of things in your life. These can be things that hunt you or lift you up. Students will write a poem, paragraph, or short story to demonstrate a personal dragon and their use of metaphor. The dragon should be a metaphor for a feeling or something in your life. Biome Brainstorm (Whole Group) Lesson
I post this as an editable document and assignment in Google Classroom. You can have students work remotely or individually. Good teaching takes time and after years of creating lessons and finding what works in my room, I have units and lessons to share that my students find engaging. These babies are Google classroom and student ready. I love writing curriculum and finding ways to tie in multiple topics and standards. I also believe deeply that Teachers helping each other to cut down on prep time so that they can enjoy the time teaching and the time outside of school is of the utmost importance.
