In this project students will translate real world situations into algebraic expressions, write equations, and solve equations. Students will also identify algebraic expressions found from a table as well as use input/output charts to evaluate expressions and plot the x and y values on a coordinate plane,
Here is a lesson used to teach about sales and discounts, sales prices, sales tax, and commissions. It demonstrates using the cross product, connections to dividing by 100, and finding new sale prices after finding discount value.

This is graphic organizer helps students figure out where they need to put the digits of a percent when converting it into a decimal. It can be used for whole numbers that are single digit percentages, double digit percentages, and even three digit percentages.
Students can solve order of operations practice problems. These problems include fractions as part of the question that need to be solved. Teachers should emphasize the importance of using PEMDAS but remind students that multiplication and division are of equal values, and addition and subtraction are of equal value and need to get solved the order they appear in the problem (LEFT TO RIGHT).
Students can use factor trees in order to find the greatest common factor needed in order to decide how many items are given out to each person. Students will practice writing out the distributive property and equivalent expressions.
