I have fifteen years of teaching experience in high school math. I have taught Algebra 1, Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra 2, Honors Precalculus, AP Precalculus, NC Math 1, 2, and 3.
This project is an assessment for a unit on conic sections. Students will choose an image to upload to DESMOS then analyze the picture in order to write the equation of the conic it represents. Students need to make sure their equation is a good fit for their picture. This is a great assessment for an Algebra 2 or PreCalculus course! Grading rubric is included. PreCalculus Standard: 1.02 Use the quadratic relations (parabola, circle, ellipse, hyperbola) to model and solve problems; justify r
Easy to follow guided notes with answer key included. Homework sheet is included as well with an answer key. Guided notes can be used to teach key features of parabolas including vertex, focus, directrix, and focal length. Students also get practice graphing and writing equations in standard conic form.
In this digital activity students will match both horizontal and vertical ellipse conic section equations to the graph. This is an awesome activity for distance learning with easy grading! When the students have matched the correct answers a mathematical term will be formed. There are eight equations to match with a graph and six problems to match the equations to key features. Students should be familiar key features of conic sections such as vertices, center, foci, and major/minor axis. Note:
Students will graph logarithm graphs using transformation rules. Transformations include horizontal and vertical shift as well as vertical reflections. They will then guess their partner's "secret graph" by asking yes or no questions to narrow down their choices. Digital guess tracker is included to help keep student's accountable! Easy and fun review game!

This interactive game is a great way for students to review operations with radical expressions. This resource includes simplifying radicals with variables, multiplying, dividing, adding, and subtracting radical expressions. This includes multiplying binomials. Make sure this resource is appropriate for your class. How to play: Students will work an entire row of problems with three problems in a category. As they solve, they will find the sum of the solutions for each of the questions in a ro

This interactive game is a great way for students to review exponential & logarithmic equations! This resource includes exponential equation with like and unlike bases, logarithmic equations with no properties and logarithmic equations with product, quotient, power and 1-1 properties. Make sure this resource is appropriate for your class. How to play: Students will work an entire row of problems with three problems in a category. As they solve, they will find the sum of the solutions for each
Students will graph sine and cosine graphs using transformations. Transformations include vertical reflections, amplitude, period, and vertical shift. They will then guess their partner's "secret graph" by asking yes or no questions to narrow down their choices. Digital guess tracker is included to help keep student's accountable! Easy and fun review game!
Students will create a cubic or quartic polynomial in factored form that meets given criteria. Criteria includes zeros, end behavior, complex solutions and increasing/decreasing intervals. This is a perfect activity to push your students to create and gives them a creative math outlet! Sample answer key included but there are many correct answers possible.
Students will graph absolute value equations using transformations. They will then guess their partner's "secret graph" by asking yes or no questions to narrow down their choices. Digital guess tracker is included to help keep student's accountable! Easy and fun review game!
