Mythbusters Scientific Method Application Activity
Students fill out this worksheet as they view an episode of Mythbusters. Students are asked to identify the steps of the scientific method used in the show and explain it in the context of the episode.
I use this in my scientific method unit as an application exercise, and I leave copies in my drawer along with a Mythbusters DVD as an emergency substitute lesson plan.

Teaching style
I have found that the most effective teaching strategies put the students to work. Labs, manipulatives, projects, and discovery learning are my focus. Lessons are designed to encourage students to find their own answers. When I use direct instruction, notes are kept short and to the point.
