Students review food webs, succession, symbiosis, population ecology, nutrient cycles, and vocabulary. Divide students into small groups and have them rotate through the stations, providing 6 to 8 minutes per station. I have found that the most effective teaching strategies put the students to work. Labs, manipulatives, projects, and discovery learning are my focus. Lessons are designed to encourage students to find their own answers. When I use direct instruction, notes are kept short and to the point.
