An interview style assessment to be completed with each student one-on-one. A combination of oral, written, and observational data collection addressing rote counting to 20, numeral identification, counting pictures in different configurations (including tens frames and place value material), and writing numbers to 20.

Montessori Subtraction Strips

Subtraction work based on the concept of the Montessori subtraction strip board, but simplified. Two sets of number strips represent the numbers 1 through 10 and -1 through -10. The student chooses the two strips corresponding with his subtraction equation and layers the negative strip over the positive strip to determine the answer. Instructions for preparation and presentation included in download. Color coded green to correspond with Montessori subtraction works. (Equations not included)

I am certified in PA for K-6 from Gettysburg College and have received Montessori certification from United Montessori Association. I am completed my masters in Educational Leadership from Concordia University-Portland and am certified in school administration. After 10 years teaching, I became Head of School at a non-profit private Montessori school.
