About the store

Experience

This is my 17th year teaching. Because of the pandemic, I am teaching an all year online program for my district this year (2nd grade).

Teaching style

I LOVE teaching and my favorite thing is teaching children to read. I believe that students learn best by doing. I'm really into communicating with parents and involving them in their child's learning.

My own education history

I graduated in business marketing from Oregon State. I worked in marketing for a few years and then decided to go back to get my Masters of Arts in Teaching. I went to George Fox University and graduated in 2004. I was lucky enough to get a job right away and am currently in my 9th year teaching at the same school.

Additional biographical information

I am happily married and have two little kids, a 13-year old boy and an 11-year old girl. One of my favorite things is hearing about their days at school and helping them at home. I love putting together creative art times for them and I am SO thrilled at how much they both love reading!
