I believe technology is a necessary component in lesson development and delivery, as well as harnessing the personal devices students utilize in their daily lives. I also adhere to the pursuit of creating a strong community of learners in numerous ways that are reflective of the diversity of cultures I continue to have the privilege of serving.

My own education history

I didn't choose teaching as a career. Rather, it chose me. I began as a radio/tv production teacher at a vocational school in the Upper Midwest. My undergraduate degree is from Indiana University-Bloomington. I received my teaching credential from Antioch University-Los Angeles. And this past December 2019, I completed my M.S.Ed. from CaIifornia State University-East Bay in Online Teaching and Learning! If anything, I continue to pursue Life Long Learning enrichment opportunities, such as, but notwithstanding, attendance at Writer's/Reader's Workshops at Columbia University's Teacher's College.
