Cereal Box Book Report
Students will be able to bring creativity to the old fashioned book report. For this project, students will create a cereal based on the book they have read. They will decorate the outside of the box with information about the book using creative concepts. The back of the box will contain a summary of the story and the top of the box will contain specific information pertaining to the book, such as title, author, and genre. Experience
I have taught 8th grade English language arts and literature for eight years in a middle school setting, along with integrated science for 5th grade, Earth science for 6th grade, biology for 7th grade, and physical science for 8th grade. During this time, I have also been responsible for creating, establishing, and implementing curriculum in both ELA and all levels of science.
Teaching style
I teach from the heart keeping in mind every student's strengths and weaknesses in order to establish an environment where students feel comfortable and ready to learn. I believe in a hands-on approach in which students can be completely involved in the learning process whether it is during a whole class discussion, independent work, and/or group activities.
My own education history
I have a bachelor's in communication/broadcast journalism with a minor in English. I have a bachelor's in elementary education with a middle school endorsement, focusing primarily in middle school science. I have a master's in teaching and learning and in administration.
Additional biographical information
I am married with four children and I have one grandson who is the light of my life. My passion is to read as much as possible and to one day write a novel.
