The Comment Card will help students learn to annotate and respond to text as they read. The card helps students learn to predict, question, clarify, comment on, connect to, and quote the text. The annotation chart also teaches students to analyze the information pulled from the text. At the end of the exercise, the students will be asked to summarize the text and to identify the author's purpose for writing the text.
