This is my fourth year teaching mathematics. I have taught 7th grade math, 7th grade honors, 8th grade math, math intervention, and an 8th grade co-taught class.
Students choose three options by using the tic-tac-toe game. They choose a diagonal, a row, or a column for their three assessment pieces to show their understanding of surface area & volume and the relationship those two have. This can be done as an in or out of class project, extra credit, and/or a partner activity.
