This study guide explains the difference between simple and compound interest. It includes an example done in a step-by-step manner and one with the compound interest formula. It also contains instructions for using a scientific calculator to find the compound interest. This guide was developed for students who are in basic math and who don't use a graphing calculator. Authored by Julane Crabtree.
Irregular polygons are those that need to be taken apart with the area of each piece calculated. This study guide shows several examples that are worked out. Also included are one compound problem (finding the amount of carpet needed and the cost) and one trapezoid problem. Included is a link to a website that helps demonstrate/explain the process.
This sheet is my list of things that I expect students to always check before turning in their work. Things like labeling, simplifying, etc. This way, students know what I expect and that they can lose points on assignments for not completing work to these specifications.
