Experience

I love creating fun resources to help math teachers! I have more than 10 years of experience teaching a combination of middle school and high school math. I also created the website www.katesmathlessons.com with free lessons, videos, and practice quizzes your students may find helpful!

Teaching style

I want students to understand WHY math works instead of trying to memorize tricks or little sayings that are easily forgotten. I focus on conceptual understanding and prefer anything with instant feedback to prevent students from practicing a skill incorrectly.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My YouTube Channel was recently named one of the top 100 Math YouTube channels!

My own education history

I have a B.A. in Mathematics and Secondary Education and also have a minor in Physics.
