Long Division Graphic Organizer 2

This graphic organizer provides students with step by step directions, and color coding, when dividing 4 digits by 1 digit. This is the next step after my initial long division graphic organizer on my page. If people are interested, I can make long division graphic organizers up through any number of digits by request. This worked really well for math intervention and remediation.

This graphic organizer works well for higher level students that understand how to write a paragraph. It allows the students to choose topic sentences, one per paragraph, and 4 details to go with each. I taught my students how to use this graphic organizer by modeling it for them once. This activity is to help students identify digraphs in words. I teach it in conjunction with phonics intervention programs such as Fundations, SIPPS, and OG. I have the students go in with a marker or highlighter and search for the digraphs. Then we would sound out each word and identify the digraphs- sometimes the words don't have them, but it's good practice for those other words. We also talk about rules- such as "ck" at the end. This is a quick activity. Could be a warm-up or exit ticket. Sh

This graphic organizer works well for students on a lower level, or lower grades. I teach 6th grade, but I use it for students that do not understand how to structure a paragraph. This introduces basic paragraph writing skills. They learn that a paragraph should have a main idea, details, and a concluding sentence. It also teaches them how to introduce transition words. I suggest completing a model of this graphic organizer. Once the outline is completed, there is an attached page where students

This is a follow up outline that goes with the multi paragraph graphic organizer that is also on my page. This allows the students to transfer their graphic organizer to paragraph form. I usually consider this their rough draft. Once the students have edited their work, I allow them to type a final copy.

Use in small group phonics. Place letter tiles/laminate and write with dry erase, use match box cars to have students "drive" from one sound to the next in order to aid with blending. Syllables can also be written in the boxes to work with multi-syllabic words.
