Every year I get my students excited about the NCAA Men's Basketball March Madness Tournament. I see articles written year after year from statisticians, sports journalist, celebrities, etc. about predicting the perfect bracket. Regardless that most have accepted it is nearly impossible, it has not deterred these enthusiast from finding an algorithm or a machine that can predict the outcomes. This packet guides students through 1) An explanation of what March Madness is all about 2) A reading a

Save yourself hours of time creating warm-ups for your students. This file includes a total of 234 days worth of warm ups (120 days for 7th grade math and 114 days for math 7 honors/math 8/prealgebra). Each warm-up sheet includes 6 days. Each day has about 4-6 questions, and should take students roughly 5-10 minutes to complete. I use this time to check off their homework. I've included a blank warm-up as well for you to create your own custom ones. All warm-ups can be easily edited. I hope yo

Tree Diagrams Notes and Practice Packet

I created this packet on tree diagrams for my probability unit so that students could work with one another to learn how to create a tree diagram on their own without my direct instruction. This gave me the freedom to help students that needed more individualized instruction and guidance. This packet was great to use before introducing the fundamental counting principle.

Help students understand how the distributive property works with an application they already know a lot about - food! This worksheet is used as an introduction and engagement to distributive property. Included in the file are pictures to print and laminate as a demonstration to the class, as well as notes and practice for the students to follow along.

Transversals and Angle Relationships- Around the world Activity

I created this activity, because I was just as bored as my students copying down definitions. The students receive a note sheet that has all the important angle relationships and a transversal example. The cards are placed around the room. Students move around the room in any order, copying down the definitions and identifying the relationships on the figure. Once they have copied this down, they use their knowledge to fill int the missing angles to the transversal figure on the page. The note

This activity can be used as an assessment or as a station activity. There are 5 questions per unit (integers, properties and real numbers, rational numbers, expressions, equations and inequalities.) There is also a section for basic skill practice. I created this as a method to see which units each student was struggling with so that I could set up review and remediation depending on each students needs.

This is the template that I used to create my QR scavenger hunt for Functions. All the locations for the scavenger hunt are generic to any school (but can easily be changed on a QR generator website if needed). I have taken out my questions and answer options, so that you can adjust this to work with any lesson. I have also included the key that tells you which answer choices are the correct ones and the locations that each answer choice leads to. My students love this activity and I know yours

Your students will love this QR activity for reviewing linear functions. Questions include finding slope, identifying the equation of a given line, solving for slope-intercept form, and more. It is designed for middle school and takes approximately 25 minutes to complete. I have made all the locations in this scavenger hunt generic to any school. Students each start at a different location in groups, solve problems and scan their answers using a QR reader on their phone. The code leads them to

Once you download this file and use it in your Algebra class, I am certain you will never want to teach another way! My students have loved every second of the blended learning format of my class. I have created google slides for each lesson's notes and practice. I allow students to work at their own pace, stopping occasionally to have their answers checked. This has allowed me more flexibility to work one-on-one with struggling students or in small groups. This format also allows for students

Students choose a dream destination and research to find how far away this location is from their home/school. With the distance and conversion helper on the back, they convert the the distance into feet, inches and centimeters. They then rewrite all of the measurements in scientific notation. (large numbers with positive exponents.) Next they measure an object in the room in centimeters or inches. They convert this measurement to feet and miles and write these new measurements in scientific not
